Distributed primary needs to Gojek driver partners and families throughout the pandemic
Pandemic Relief for Drivers and MSMEs through Gotong Royong
The covid-19 lockdown impacted Gojek driver partners ability to work and generate sufficient income. This situation calls GIF to take action in supporting their families livelihood. The relief program was distributed efficiently by the Gojek driver application voucher system and the support of distribution partners.
Throughout 59 cities in Indonesia, 720,000 staple goods packages and 2.9 million free meals were delivered. Driver partners could redeem these vouchers at nearby minimarkets and GoFood MSME merchants. These initiatives have supported 299,000 families from the financial shock. At the same time, 1,570 MSMEs in the GoFood ecosystem were able to keep operating during the pandemic. The program is also extended beyond Indonesia, reaching 2,731 Gojek driver partners across ASEAN countries. With the spirit of Gotong Royong, this initiative showed the impact of tech-enabled relief.
